neuPropofol Program
Using our neuNanoParticle® Technology platform, Formatech has developed neuPropofol; a reformulated Propofol drug that provides improved safety and tolerability versus Diprivan®1 and other generic forms of this drug.
Propofol (2,6-Diisopropylphenol) is a well-known and widely used intravenous anesthetic agent. Commercially available Propofol formulations are prepared as oil-in-water emulsions. There are two major problems associated with these formulations:

- Emulsion formulations cannot be filter sterilized – increasing the risk of bacterial contamination in the final product
- Producing hyperlipidemia in patients undergoing long-term ICU sedation due to the high lipid content in the product
- Compatible with filter sterilization techniques
- Option of preservative-free product preparation
- Optimized for lyophilization to increase product shelf-life
